ABOUT US
We believe that browser automation shouldn't come at the cost of your privacy.
Our Mission
Today's agentic systems are broken. You are usually forced to choose between two bad options: cloud-based agents running on remote Virtual Machines that trap you in endless sign-in loops and lack the context of your actual work, or local native agents that demand deep technical expertise and complex terminal setups just to get them running.
We believe AI should improve your workflow, not complicate it. Agentic systems must adapt to humans, not the other way around. Our mission is to make browser-native automation profoundly powerful yet radically accessible. We are building Hands for the everyday user - a true local tool that lives natively where you work, requires zero technical setup, and automates the web without the friction.
The Origin Story
We didn't set out to build an AI company. We just wanted to get our work done faster.
Like everyone else, we were excited by the promise of autonomous agents, but the reality of using them was a nightmare. We quickly realized we had to choose between cloud-based compromises or hyper-technical local setups.
When we tried cloud agents, every tool relied on remote Virtual Machines. Because these VMs were completely isolated from our actual computers, we had to continuously sign in and re-authenticate to our own accounts. Furthermore, they lacked the vital context of our everyday workflows - they couldn't see our open tabs, didn't know our local state, and routinely refused to perform normal browsing actions due to bot-protections or CAPTCHAs. We were also permanently locked into whatever AI model the provider dictated.
When we looked for local alternatives to solve the privacy and context problems, we hit a wall. The available local native solutions were far too technical to implement and use. They required complex Python environments, command-line interfaces, and constant troubleshooting just to perform a simple task. They forced us to adapt to their steep learning curve.
We realized the entire industry had it backwards. Agentic systems should be adapting to humans, not humans adapting to the systems. AI should exist to improve our workflows seamlessly, not complicate them with disconnected cloud infrastructure or technical hurdles.
That frustration led to the creation of Hands. We threw out the remote VMs, the vendor lock-in, and the complicated terminal scripts. We built an agent designed for the everyday user - an agent that lives natively inside your own browser, installs in a single click, and has the full context of your actual workflow. We built it to make profound, browser-native automation accessible to everyone, allowing you to speed up tasks without ever leaving your own machine.
